I found The Midnight Library to be a delightful, easy-to-read book with a thought-provoking storyline that would make any reader reflect on their own life and the choices they made. I found the plot, though occasionally repetitive, still kept me intrigued from start to finish. From the very first page, the writing style drew me in — it’s accessible yet layered with depth. I can see how Nora would want to know if she had made different choices what her life would have been.
The pacing is unhurried, which I appreciated, allowing the philosophical themes to unfold naturally and meaningfully. The storyline will remind readers that happiness isn’t some grand final destination — it’s found in the small, imperfect, everyday moments that shape a complete life.
That has been so true in my life. It is always the little things that have made my life wonderful.
The Midnight Library reminded me of Sliding Doors (the movie I did not get to read the book) as both explore the “what ifs” of alternate lives.
But I found this book to be more philosophical, delving into a multiverse of possibilities born from a single point of choice.
If they were to turn it into a movie, I am not sure they could perfect it any more.
I highly recommend it.
